We reported on the departure of Tag Heuer CEO Stephane Linder (Turnover at the Top) in December, and now comes news that the brand’s technical director Guy Semon will assume the role of general manager.
Semon, pictured above, will work alongside Jean-Claude Biver, president of the LVMH Watch group division, who has been acting as interim CEO.
Semon’s appointment is great news for Tag as it repositions itself away from the haute horology segment and looks to more affordable complications.
The man is an engineering genius – far preferable to a salesman when it comes to initiating interesting product.
Tag is even reportedly looking at its own version of a smart watch, which given Semon’s track record is likely to be really smart – otherwise why bother.
