Alonso joins McLaren- Honda

A trio of aces together again on the same track, the Formula One World Champion embarks upon a new phase with McLaren-Honda in which the 30th anniversary of the collaboration between the motor racing team and TAG Heuer is commemorated.

Daring, fast, always going further… The latest addition to the McLaren-Honda team is also the brand new TAG Heuer Ambassador. The prestigious Swiss watch company and leading brand in the world of motor racing, is proud to welcome one of the fastest men in the world: Fernando Alonso. Fernando returns to the TAG Heuer family –after being an ambassador in 2007– to share a new Formula 1 season that promises to be unforgettable.

A Formula 1 driver practically from birth, speed runs through the veins of Fernando, since he was a child who used to race the karts his father built for him. Thanks to his natural talent, hard work, struggle and self-improvement, the Asturian pilot has won so many titles throughout his career that it is easy to lose track. His achievements include winning two consecutive world championships that made him responsible for the rebirth of motor racing in Spain. He has travelled the path of a champion and definitely has become a TAG Heuer man who always stretches beyond his limits and never cracks under pressure.

The two-time World Champion joins the TAG Heuer Olympus made up by top sport superstars, his McLaren-Honda teammate Jenson Button, soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo, tennis champions Maria Sharapova and Kei Nishikori, the 2013 and 2014 WRC World Champion Sébastien Ogier, and the Dempsey Racing Team, among others.

A world leading manufacturer of watches and prestigious chronographs since 1860, TAG Heuer is also the leading watch brand in the world of motor racing, with an undisputed reputation behind the brand. Through its partnership with McLaren, which in 2015 celebrates 30 years, TAG Heuer has been linked to a long series of McLaren motor racing figures like Ayrton Senna, Alain Prost, Niki Lauda, Gerhard Berger, Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, David Coulthard, Mika Hakkinen, Kimi Raikkonen, Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. Now, Fernando Alonso joins this long list of motor racing stars, and TAG Heuer cannot be more delighted to welcome him as a new ambassador. Welcome, Fernando!
