Maurice Lacroix kicks a goal

Maurice Lacroix Barca Squelette copy

Is it possible to produce a team watch that doesn’t look garish? Many have tried, few have succeeded, here’s one…

Most times when a brand launches a sports-related watch it’s so over-liveried or larded with some garish logo it ends up being less desirable than the unadorned original. Full marks then to Maurice Lacroix who’ve managed to produce an FC Barcelona range with 11 watch/strap combinations where the Barca dinkus doesn’t overpower the dial. Best of all is the Masterpiece Squelette (skeletonised) version, with the club’s shield subtly shown at the 7 o’clock position. The only question is what happened to Seiko, Barca’s most recent dance partner? We’ll ask.
